DoorDash agreed to acquire Maplebear, the parent company of Instacart, in a transaction valued at approximately **$17 billion**. The merger agreement was signed on October 28 and disclosed in filings by both companies on October 29.

Instacart shareholders may elect cash, DoorDash shares or a combination, subject to proration. DoorDash said stock consideration is capped at 25%, so at least three-quarters of the consideration is cash.
