From its latest annual report

DuPont makes engineered materials and parts for other businesses. Its products include medical packaging and components for medical devices and drug makers, water filters and membranes that clean water for industry and cities, building materials such as TYVEK house wrap, STYROFOAM insulation and CORIAN countertops, and industrial parts, adhesives, lubricants and printing plates for aircraft, car and packaging makers. It has subsidiaries in about 50 countries and factories in about 20.

It reports two segments. Healthcare & Water Technologies had net sales of $3,233 million in 2025, and Diversified Industrials, which covers the building and industrial products, had $3,616 million. Sales outside the US, including exports, made up about 53 percent of the total. DuPont says it competes with large multinational companies and established regional ones, on technology, price and service.

The company has been shrinking to this core. On November 1, 2025 it spun off its electronics business as a separate public company, Qnity Electronics, and it has agreed to sell its Aramids business to Arclin, a deal it said it expected to close around the end of the first quarter of 2026. At the end of 2025 DuPont employed about 15,000 people, about 1,700 of them in the Aramids business, and half of its workforce was in the US and Canada.

Hi! I read DuPont’s latest annual report (fiscal 2025). Here is what stands out:

2 strengths 2 to watch

2.Cash and shareholders

See section β†’
  • Free cash flow was $227M in fiscal 2025, 3.3% of revenue.

  • Its return on capital was 1.1%: every 100 invested in the business earned about 1 in a year.

Biggest risks, in its own words

  • Large tax bills if past spin-offs and sales, including the Qnity spin-off, fail to qualify for their intended tax treatment.
  • Lawsuits and cleanup costs tied to PFAS chemicals, shared with Corteva and Chemours under a cost-sharing agreement.
  • The planned sale of the Aramids business may be delayed or may not happen as planned.
  • Its reliance on energy, raw materials and outside suppliers spread across many countries, which can be disrupted.
  • Trade disputes and tariffs that could raise its costs or make its products less competitive abroad.
