Vistra (NYSE: VST) completed its acquisition of Cogentrix Energy on October 30, 2026, adding 10 natural-gas generation facilities with approximately 5,496 megawatts across PJM, ISO New England and ERCOT.

The company said the assets expand its ability to serve customers in key U.S. power markets. The acquired fleet is modern natural-gas generation, positioning the transaction around dispatchable capacity as electricity demand and reliability requirements rise.

Vistra did not disclose a purchase price or updated earnings guidance in the release. Its next scheduled quarterly results are due November 6, so the financial contribution and any financing or integration effects remain for subsequent reporting.
