From its latest annual report

NXP Semiconductors, based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, designs chips and sells them to makers of cars, factory and smart-home equipment, phones and communications gear. Its products include microcontrollers (small chips that control a device), application and communication processors, wireless connectivity chips, analog and power chips, radio-frequency amplifiers for cell towers, sensors and security chips used in passports, payment cards and phones.

It reports one business segment but sells into four end markets: Automotive, Industrial & IoT (internet-connected devices), Mobile, and Communication Infrastructure & Other. Revenue in 2025 was $12,269 million. Automotive is its main focus, and it describes growth coming from driver assistance, electric vehicles and software-defined vehicles.

NXP uses a mix of its own chip factories, a factory run jointly with another chip company, and outside foundries. It is joining two new 300 millimeter chip plants as a part-owner: one in Dresden, Germany, and one in Singapore. In 2025 it bought TTTech Auto, Aviva Links and Kinara, which add automotive software, in-car networking and AI processing chips.
