Cadeler signs Dogger Bank C contract for Wind Apex vessel
The offshore-wind vessel will support installation of 87 turbines at the UK project from the third quarter of 2027.
Cadeler has signed a firm contract to support the transportation and installation of turbines at Dogger Bank C in the UK, the third 1.2-gigawatt phase of the offshore wind farm. The company said the contract was released on November 4, 2026.
Newbuild vessel joins the campaign
Cadeler said its newbuild installation vessel Wind Apex will join the turbine installation campaign from the third quarter of 2027, marking its first deployment after delivery from the shipyard. The vessel will work alongside the project's existing installation vessel.
The contract covers additional vessel capacity for the transportation and installation of Dogger Bank C's 87 offshore wind turbines. Wind Apex will also be available to support other phases of the wider project, according to Cadeler.
Part of a 3.6 GW offshore project
Dogger Bank is being built in three equal 1.2 GW phases and is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to power around six million UK homes annually when complete. SSE leads development and construction for the joint venture, whose partners are SSE with 40%, Equinor with 40% and Vårgrønn with 20%.
Cadeler did not disclose the contract value in the announcement. The company is listed in New York under CDLR and in Oslo under CADLR.
