Colgate-Palmolive makes and sells everyday household and personal care products and pet food. Its products are marketed in over 200 countries and territories. It sells toothpaste, toothbrushes and mouthwash under names such as Colgate, elmex and Tom's of Maine, and soaps, shower gels and deodorants such as Palmolive, Softsoap and Speed Stick. It also sells dishwashing liquids, household cleaners and fabric conditioners such as Ajax, Fabuloso and Suavitel.
The company has two segments. Oral, Personal and Home Care brought in 44%, 17% and 16% of 2025 net sales. The Hill's Pet Nutrition segment, which sells Hill's Science Diet and Prescription Diet through pet stores, vets and online retailers, brought in 23%. Other customers include retailers, wholesalers and distributors. Walmart and its affiliates accounted for about 11% of net sales in 2025, and no other customer was as large.
Colgate-Palmolive had about 33,600 employees in over 100 countries at the end of 2025. About two-thirds of its revenue comes from outside the United States. It says it competes with multinational and local companies, with store-brand products, and with new online and direct-to-consumer sellers, on price, promotions, new products and expansion into new channels.
