Chubb
CB NYSE Property & Casualty Insurance Financials FY2016βFY2025
Chubb's revenue rose 6.5% to $59.4 billion in fiscal 2025. Its net margin was 17.4%, up from 16.6% a year earlier. It paid out $5.2 billion in dividends and buybacks. The diluted share count fell 1.7%.
About these figures. Chubb's cash flow statement doesn't show its spending on property and equipment as a line of its own, so capital spending and free cash flow are left blank.
What Chubb does
Chubb is a Swiss-incorporated holding company, based in Zurich, for a global group of insurance and reinsurance businesses. It sells property and casualty insurance (called P&C), accident and health insurance, and life insurance to businesses, individuals and other insurers. For most lines it works through insurance brokers and agents and pays them a commission.
It earns money from three sources: underwriting income from P&C policies, investment income, and income from its life business. Chubb runs six segments. In 2025 total net premiums earned, the share of premiums counted as earned in the year, was $53.0 billion. North America Commercial P&C Insurance was the biggest, at 38 percent of that total. Overseas General Insurance was 27 percent. The others are North America Personal P&C, North America Agricultural, Global Reinsurance and Life Insurance.
The personal insurance segment serves high-net-worth individuals and families with homeowners, collector car, fine art and travel cover. Chubb owns a majority stake of approximately 87.2 percent in Huatai Group. At the end of 2025 its total assets were $272 billion.
